On 26 September 2025, the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) successfully organised a webinar titled “Understanding the New EPF Mandate: 2% Contribution for Migrant Workers”. The session provided an overview and understanding of the new regulation, effective 1 October 2025, which requires employers to make a 2% EPF contribution for their eligible migrant workers.

Starting 1 October 2025, a major regulatory change will take effect for employers of non-Malaysian workers in Malaysia. Under the new mandate, employers are required to contribute 2% of an eligible migrant worker’s wages to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), with an additional 2% deducted from the employee’s wages as their matching contribution.

To help employers prepare, this webinar, conducted by EPF provided a clear, practical understanding of the new obligation and offer members the opportunity to seek clarification directly from EPF officers. The session featured presentation by Ms. Buvaneshwary A/P Ravaniah, a highly experienced Relationship Advisor (ERS), Relationship & Advisory, with the Employees Provident Fund Malaysia (EPF) Malaysia.

The event received strong engagement, attracting 95 registrants and achieving a high attendance rate of 97.9%, with 93 participants joining the session. Attendees feedback was positive, with evaluation rating the webinar as “good” to “excellent” in terms of relevance and delivery.
