In its statement, Margma urged the Energy Commission to include gas supply to glove manufacturers in its priority list, noting their vital role in global healthcare alongside the hospitals, food, and pharmaceutical sectors.
“This situation must be treated with urgency as it is crucial to minimise production interruptions on the critical supply of rubber gloves, an essential medical device for the global healthcare market, including hospitals, clinics, and other essential industries. Any extended downtime could have repercussions on the global availability of these essential goods,” the association said.
Margma said action by the authorities will help its members maintain operations without incurring further financial burdens.
