Inaugural Malaysia Rubber Industry Golf Day 2025 — A Resounding Success
On 4 June 2025, the inaugural Malaysia Rubber Industry Golf Day was held at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, Petaling Jaya. Jointly organised by the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) and the Malaysian Rubber Products Manufacturers’ Association (MRPMA), the event united over 100 key decision-makers from across the latex and dry-rubber value chain for a day of spirited golf, networking and camaraderie.
The day commenced with registration and lunch at 11:30am, followed by a lively Stableford 36 competition at 1:00pm. The event culminated with a networking dinner and prize presentation at 7:00pm, fostering strong industry relationships and celebrating the competitive spirit.
We extend our congratulations to Eric Chong of Linachem Sdn Bhd, who emerged as the champion with a score of 38 points (OCB 10). Runners-up included Lee Siew Choy (Kossan Latex Industries) and Gary Tang (Top Glove Corporation). Special awards such as Longest Drive, Nearest to Pin and Nearest to Line were also presented, recognising outstanding individual performances.
A heartfelt thank you to the 18 companies whose generous sponsorship helped raise about RM60,000. In line with our commitment to social responsibility, all surplus proceeds will be donated to selected local schools and charitable homes.
The success of this inaugural event sets a promising foundation for it to become an annual highlight within Malaysia’s rubber sector, strengthening collaboration and making a positive impact beyond business.
